  Thomas

Mostyn Mouse

 Jenny Wren

 Lambkin

- on his own

- in the barn

- with toothache

 Thomas was a tadpole.

    While he swam around -

He looked forward to the day

    he's jump on the ground.

Time went by, Tom's legs grew –

    until he'd got four.

He could jump on the ground;

    who could ask for more?

Tom saw an airplane

   high up in the sky.

Not content with walking

   Tom wanted to fly.

God explained to Thomas

   he'd been born a frog –

He was not meant to be

   a bird, bee or dog.

Do not waste time wishing

for what's not Gods Will –

It's just wasting effort.

   Tom is a frog still.

Just as God changed our Tom

   to frog from tadpole –

Jesus changes those who

   give Him heart and soul.

All attempts to fill their

   'emptiness' will cease –

He'll give them a purpose,

   Forgiveness and Peace.

            Mostyn Mouse

Mostyn is a little mouse.

Mostyn’s  home is in God's House

He has fun when girls and boys –

leave behind some of their toys

He rides on cars, bells he rings –

with folk there he sometimes sings

They don't notice his small voice

when, with them, he does rejoice

We, too, would be more content

if to God, all our praise went –

If we kept all of God's Law –

if, with Mos, we trusted more –

For Peace and Joy from above –

for each need trust Jesus' Love-

Mostyn is a happy mouse.

Mostyn's home is in God's House.

Jenny is a little wren. A tiny little bird -

With quite a shrill singing voice that easily is heard.

She has a tiny body and legs that are so thin -

they don’t seem much  bigger than a dressmaking pin

God loves our tiny Jenny. He watches where she goes –

There's nothing she can do without Christ Jesus knows.

As He cares for tiny birds, sees everything they do –

How much more He'll care for us, each day, all our life through.

                                 Lambkin

The day dawned clear and bright. The dew lay on the ground.

Lambkin got up at first light . There wasn't a sound.

He looked in the manger to eat a piece of hay.

That's when he had quite a shock. For there a baby lay!

The Baby seemed happy as He looked round at dawn –

At all the animals on that first Christmas morn.

Some shepherds came in later. Lambkin heard them say -

They looked for Christ the Lord - who in a manger lay.

They worshipped that small baby. They'd head angels sing -

Glory to the Highest and, on earth, Peace He'd bring.

Lambkin sat and wondered at what he'd seen and heard.

Of how Jesus, that Baby - was the lamb of God.

You see, Lambkin didn't know that his kith and kin -

Were killed and burnt each day atoning for man's Sin.

He didn't know God's lamb would wear a crown of thorn –

Then He'd be crucified but Rise on Easter morn.

Didn't know Jesus Christ would die to set men free –

Or, if men trusted Him they'd live Eternally.

Lambkin didn't puzzle his little woolly head -

About things in the future. He just went back to bed.

             Lambkin roaming

Lambkin had his breakfast, it was a lovely spread.

When, with each tasty morsel, the lamb had been fed -

He then thought to himself he'd go off on his own.

Sun was shining brightly when he began to roam.

He climbed through the hedge and then he ran up the hill.

Lambkin had a lot of fun doing his own will.

He soon had some companions as he went astray -

From his good shepherd's care on such a lovely day.

Nobody had noticed how the daylight had flown -

How, what started as fun, had into badness grown.

Lambkins playmates left him to go their different ways -

They planned to meet again on all the sunny days.

He found to get home again was quite impossible.

Instead of tasty tea, weeds he had to nibble.

Had no breakfast either next unhappy morn -

How was he to survive without his feed of corn?

Sun didn't get up -it poured and poured with rain.

Lambkin knew if he got home he'd not roam again.

Next day the sun came out, his playmates came once more.

What fun it all was –‘til the rain. began to pour!

This time Lambkin didn’t shelter out of the rain –

He was quite determined to get back home again

He yelled for his shepherd 'til his lungs nearly burst .

Why had he failed to do that simple thing at first?

His shepherd was still searching for the little lamb

Lambkin heard him calling -straight to him he ran.

"You've been very bad" his shepherd fondly said.

"I will forgive you, as I feared that you were dead.

While searching I've lost my blood and I've suffered pain.

I love you so very much, please don't go again -

Or Father may disown you, though you've belonged to me -

Ever since I lost my blood for you, on the tree.

        Mostyn in the Barn

D'you remember Mostyn mouse -

The mouse who lives in God's house?

Mostyn visited a farm -

Animals were in a barn.

Many sorts that barn did hold –

Outside it was very cold.

Mostyn saw lambs with their mum –

They were having lots of fun –

Running round the leg's of Horse –

There was Cow too of course,

Chewing her cud to make milk -

Her calf's coat was soft as silk.

There was Goat with her kid –

Watching what the piglets did.

They were pink with curly tails.

Their mum snorted in a pail.

Chickens perched up on a beam –

Were the biggest Mos had seen.

Some kittens played in the hay.

(Mostyn didn't go that way!)

He watched puppies by the door.

Wondered what the bed was for.

Was it put there just for him?

Daylight certainly was dim.

He'd lie there and Peace he'd know –

Just like Jesus long ago.

Then in his imaginings -

He, too, would see angels wings.

He'd see baby Jesus too -

In a world become quite new.

Where folk everywhere would know –

Jesus and His Peace, although –

to Mostyn it was a dream -

Life could be just like he'd seen –

If all folk loved Jesus too.

Can we start with me and you?

        Mostyn had Toothache

D’you remember Mostyn Mouse ?

The mouse who lives in God's House?

Mostyn had a piece of cake –

Then his tooth began to ache.

( He bit on a raisin stone )

Rang the dentist on the phone.

"I broke my tooth on a pip –

And it hurts me quite a bit.

Please Mr Dentist, can you see –

When you'll mend my tooth for me?"

Dentist said "come right away –

I can fit you in today."

In dentist's chair our Mos laid –

He was really quite afraid.

The light above Mos did glare.

He remembered God was there.

So Mos prayed to Him again –

To take away all the pain.

Jesus came and held his hand –

So our Mick would understand –

Though the world is big and wide –

God is always at our side.

If, with faith, we seek His peace –

Troubles of our lives will cease.

Dentist didn't hurt a bit -

Tooth was mended very quick.

"Thank you Jesus for Your help –

I was afraid  by myself.

With You I am very brave -

Thank You for the help You gave.

Now I'll go home to Your House.

I'm a very grateful mouse.
