As long as I am in a flying plane I will fly too – but if I stepped outside the plane the law of gravity would take over.  Similarly, if I am trusting in the shed Blood of Jesus Christ and determining to obey Him (even if I fail sometimes) I am ‘in Christ’.  If I willfully disobey him I step outside the protection of His Blood and the law of Sin and Death take over.

You only love God as much as you love His word.  You only trust God as much as you trust His Word.  Your opinion of God is the same as your opinion of His Word.
