It was bound in
leather -
A
handsome looking book.
The inside was rubbish –
not worth
a second look.
And yet so many folk –
valuing
what they see -
Would
not read the contents –
whatever they may be.
Are
you or I like that?
judge folk
from the outside?
Never realising -
plain
covers often hide –
From an unseeing eye –
things of
far greater worth -
Like
wisdom, love and knowledge –
of Christ's Kingdom on earth.

In
the bustle of this life
I must make the time -
Just to be with my Father -
claim the
wealth that is mine.
When I am concerned with
worldly
deeds I find -
I don't hear God's still, small voice
It's
banished from my mind.
Though I try to thank my God
for each
single thing –
It's when, in peace, I listen
I bear
angels sing.
They tell of Jesus' Glory.
They sing
-of His Might .
God tells me what to do
walking
in Christ's Light
I never have too many
deeds to
fill my time –
While I walk with Jesus,
and just
make His Way mine.
