Mostyn and the Mousetrap
D'you remember Mostyn mouse?
the mouse who lives in God's house?
Mostyn went to
school one day -
to watch
all the children play.
He went onto the playground -
then he ran towards the sound
Of the singing, and
so, soon
he was in a big classroom.
Then the lesson
changed, and so
to another room he'd go~
Mostyn dawdled on the way.-
got
lost, so began to play.
Mostyn played with toys he'd found.
then he
found a funny rnound.
Couldn't do a thing with it.
Then Mos nearly had a fit.
A button he'd pressed by chance
made a
doll jump out and dance.
Mos decided to go
home
by a short-cut he'd been shown.
He went down a little
pipe.
Soon the school was out of sight.
The pipe was blocked with a thing -
with a
spring on and cheese in.
Mos would have the cheese for tea
but
what was that he could see?
Beside the cheese was some fur.
could
Mos hear a big cat purr?
He listened to that
cat gloat
that fur was a mouse's coat!
He'd been caught in
the trap -
would Mos, too, have a mishap?
"Please God" prayed our little mouse
"Help me get home to Your house."
When God heard our Mos's prayer
He
thought it. was most unfair.
Saw between the cat
and trap
a piece of an old blue mat.
Close to Mos, the
mat God kicked.
That mat really did the trick.
Mos wriggled beneath
the pile
though it took him quite a while.
Mos then waited
patiently
Though Gods plan he could not see.
Much later, somebody
came
Took the mat into the lane.
Mostyn quickly ran
back home.
Thought never more would he roam.
Thank You God,. Im,
in Your House.
I am such a grateful mouse.

Mostyn
and Fish
Mostyn is a little mouse.
Mostyn lives inside God's
house.
When the wind was blowing right
little Mos played with
his kite.
It was small beyond belief
cobweb fixed to a tree's
leaf
With it, he ran up the hill
down again, right past
the mill.
Tired then he rested on
a stone by the big mill
pond.
When held rested Mostyn glanced
at a fish passing by
chance.
A hook was fixed firmly in
to that fishes dorsal
fin.
Mostyn then gave a great shout
to tell Fish he'd take it
out.
A problem at once Mos found
fishes can't live on dry
ground.
So they prayed to Christ Jesus.
they said "Will You
please help us?"
Mostyn nearly had a fit
when Jesus said, for a
bit
Mos must sit on fishes back
while that hook he did
attack.
To the surface Fish did come.
Mostyn did not think it
fun ~
To sit on those slippery scales
to remove that hook,
impaled
Into that poor fish's fin.
persevering, Mos did win.
Pulled and tugged, and out hook came
though that poor fish
suffered pain
Then Mos clambered to the shore
a contented
mouse once more.
'He'd done what he knew was right
trusting in God's Power and Might.
Mos knows God will always help
with
what he can't do himself
When Mos relies on God's Son
then
God's Will is always done.
