   Freddie Farmer is a shepherd.

He loves his sheep a lot .

He always does what's best for them

      if they agree or not.

In summer when it's getting hot

he shears off all their wool –

So they don't itch or get distressed

      but just keep comfortable.

In winter time he gives them hay –

turnips and corn to eat –

And makes them walk through a footbath

that stings -but cures sore feet.

Though the sheep know Freddie loves them

they'd run the other way –

And hide somewhere, if they'd a chance

      when it is 'footbath day'.

Just as we will try to escape

from something if we can –

That God has prepared for our good

      in His wise, loving plan.

If you're tempted to turn away

from the path God makes plain –

   Remember Freddie Farmer's sheep

      and turn straight back again.

                                Stanley

Stanley was a rebel who went to Sunday School.

He didn't think he needed God so he just played the fool.

He did all he could think of to upset everyone.

In his own way, he crucified Jesus, God's only Son.

Only one thing Stan remembered when he had left his youth.

That Jesus Christ was his Shepherd. A most important truth.

The one who had taught Stanley's class - to help them understand -

Said "Grasp, for each word I give you - a finger of your hand.

Your thumb is THE -the next is LORD, the middle finger IS

The fourth finger represents MY, the small your SHEPHERD is.

Stan grew. The thing he enjoyed most was clinging like a fly -

While climbing on a rocky face between the sea and sky.

Our Stan had become quite famous for things that he could do.

He didn't often think of God or think he'd need Christ too.

So, to bring him to his senses drastic measures God took.

(You'll find God often does that if you look in His Book)

When Stan was least expecting it his boot missed the rock face.

Then, with an agonising cry Stan hurtled into space.

The rescuers were all amazed.  Not that they found him dead.

But his hand grasped his fourth finger - which very clearly said -

In the time that fool was falling he’d trusted Jesus Christ.

And though he’s left this world behind Stanley will never die.

Don't treat your Saviour like Stan did or it could be too late.

Give Him your heart, and do His Will beginning Now -TODAY.

                 Eddie the Elephant

Eddie was an elephant who took some time to learn -

That he was loved just for himself not for blessings he yearned.

Eddie had a dream one day which really was quite strange –

As his legs for an antelope’s were suddenly exchanged.

Eddie then ran very fast but wasn’t satisfied -

Because a pelican's large beak to his surprise he spied.

Soon that beak too, Eddie had instead of his own trunk –

But he wasn’t satisfied, he wanted Camel’s hump.

Then, though like a canary he didn't want to sing -

Eddie thought it would be nice to have Canary’s wings.

Then, in his dream Eddie found nobody loved him more -

Than when he had just been himself the way he was before.

We don’t need to be beautiful or the top of the class -

The love God wants to give us is free to all who ask.

So I hope you’ll remember God's love is given free.

You don’t need to change into a Camelephantelopelicanary.

Little Robin Redbreast

   sings the whole day long.

He puts his heart into –

   praising God in song.

God gives Robin feathers.

   gives him food to eat.

Sometimes in the garden –

   there's worms for a treat.

We've no need to struggle .

   if we trust God's Son.

He'll see we have plenty –

   of food, work and fun.

If we trust in Jesus –

our lives will be blessed .

We'll have no more worries –

   than Robin Redbreast.

Little Bernard Bumble Bee –

is as happy as can be.

God has planted flowers galore –

   right outside small Bernard's door.

Bernard doesn't dig or hoe.

everywhere he wants to go –

He'll find his needs in a trice –

   everything he needs in life.

As God cares for Bernard Bee

more He'll care for you and me.

Care more than your Mum and Dad –

whether you are good or bad.

God will love you just the same.

that's why our Lord Jesus came.

Because He loves you and me –

more than He loves Bernard Bee.
